Camp Watitoh, located in the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced Dramatic Arts/ Theater student or graduate who is interested in expanding their experience directing children’s theater.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, producing two musical productions, one for campers ages 7-11 and one for campers ages 12-16 and implementing hour-long drama classes doing improv games and other drama-type exercises. Applicants will be choosing the musicals, editing scripts, casting, choreography and blocking, costumes, and sets. The program is designed to create productions that will allow campers to thrive on stage in an environment where we are boosting self-confidence and allowing campers to try new things. Some campers will be skilled at singing, dancing, and acting while others will be novice. Relocation to the Berkshire Mountains (Western Massachusetts) from mid-June to mid-August. Salary, room, and board is included along with a travel stipend. The applicant should want to be part of something more than the theater as there will be responsibilities outside of the drama program to support the camp community. This is a great way to spend your summer outside, on a beautiful lake front property, experiencing an incredibly spirited and lively culture while doing something you love!
